Subject: Postdoctoral/Research Associate Position: Physical Oceanographer/Integrative Modeler

The Department of Environmental, Coastal and Ocean Sciences (ECOS) at the University of Massachusetts Boston (UMB) invites applications for a postdoctoral or research associate position in the field of numerical modeling of coastal physical and biochemical processes. The successful candidate is expected to work in a team strengthening our current effort to maintain and further develop the Massachusetts Bay hydrodynamic and water quality models. The research is supported by a long-term contract from the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA). Basic duties include developing numerical codes in Fortran and Matlab, analyzing data from fieldwork and modeling, setting-up model parameters, performing numerical experiments and writing technical reports. ECOS is an interdisciplinary graduate (M.S., Ph.D.) department, having 14 faculty/scientists and 40 graduate students.
