Biological Station for Research, Inc., is seeking a Research Technician
(Trace Metal Geochemistry/Marine Atmospheric Chemistry) The Bermuda
Biological Station for Research, Inc. (BBSR) is a U.S. incorporated
501(c)(3) not-for-profit research and education institution employing
a multi-national staff of approximately 100 people. Activities include
oceanographic and marine biological research conducted by resident
and visiting scientists, and university level courses on topics
ranging from marine pollution to remote sensing. Additional information

At this time, BBSR seeks a full-time research technician to work
on projects related to trace metal geochemistry and marine atmospheric
chemistry. The work will involve the setup and maintenance of chemical
laboratory facilities at BBSR and at the Tudor Hill atmospheric
sampling facility, as well as chemical laboratory work including
cleaning of sampling containers, reagent preparation, sample processing,
chemical analysis and procurement of equipment and supplies. The
position will also entail regular collection of atmospheric samples
from the 23-m high Tudor Hill sampling tower, data management and
processing, and possible participation in oceanographic research
cruises. The ideal candidate will have a bachelors or masters degree
in chemistry, biology or the Earth sciences, and previous chemical/geochemical
laboratory experience, including knowledge of trace-metal clean
techniques for collection and analysis of marine and atmospheric
samples, and safe laboratory procedures. More importantly, the candidate
will be reliable, careful, conscientious and physically fit, with
a high degree of personal organization and meticulous attention
to detail. The position will require that the applicant obtain a
Bermuda driver's license as soon as possible. The position, available
immediately, is for a period of two years, with further employment
dependent on renewed or new funding. Salary will be commensurate
with qualifications and experience. Applications close November
