Subject: The first International Summer School on Surface Ocean-Lower Atmosphere Study

ANNOUNCEMENT:

The first International Summer School on Surface Ocean-Lower Atmosphere Study will be held in Cargese, Corsica (France) from June 30 to July 11 2003. Information and registration form can be found under http://www.bgc.mpg.de/~corinne.lequere/solas/

Registration deadline: February 15 2003
This school will expose graduate students and young scientists to recent developments and methodologies in the study of biogeochemical and physical interactions and feedbacks between the ocean and atmosphere in a changing environment. The school will mix lectures and practical workshops, including a mini-research cruise and computer modeling experiments. Several fellowships will be awarded to students to cover partially or totally travel and lodging expenses. Requests must be made directly on the registration form. Saltzman, David Aubin, Fortunat Joos, Osvaldo Ulloa, Rik Wanninkhof, Ray Najjar, Mary-Elena Carr, Andreas Oschlies, Catherine Jeandel, Philip Boyd, Carlos M. Duarte, Wade McGillis, Gill Malin, Ulrich Platt, Jos Lelieveld, Ina Tegen, Ann E. Gargett, Renato Quiñones, Tom Pedersen and David Karl. Véronique Garçon is organizing the mini-research cruise.
