Dear Ocean PI's:

The Carbon Cycle Science NRA will be released on NASAs ESE Website on Friday, October 6. It may not be clear from the title that ocean research will be considered, but please be assured that there _ are_ research topics that apply to the ocean's carbon cycle. I strongly encourage you to propose to this NRA if it fits with your research interests. For modeling work, I think I can say that the NRA specifically calls out NASA's contribution to the JGOFS Synthesis and Modelling Project.

Near the end of the preparation of the NRA, we were asked to combine several activities, and that is why this NRA is more comprehensive than any one group feels especially comfortable with.

So, when it is released, please read the NRA carefully, and I look forward to receiving proposals that fit under the (broad) research topics listed. And stay tuned for another NRA on interdisciplinary science later this fall.
