<>The Department of Marine, Earth, and Atmospheric Sciences (MEAS) at North Carolina State University (NCSU) is seeking to fill a tenure track faculty position in Physical Oceanography at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level. *This position was previously advertised at the Full Professor level only. *Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in physical oceanography or a related science. The successful candidate must be interested in building collaborative and interdisciplinary research programs in coastal or estuarine monitoring, processes and dynamics. To be considered at the Associate or Full Professor level, the candidate must have developed a strong sponsored research program. The position will begin July 1, 2006; review of application materials for this expanded search will begin on January 3, 2006.

Teaching responsibilities will range from introductory courses for non-majors to advanced courses, such as undergraduate and graduate courses in physical oceanography or other areas consistent with the individual's expertise.

<>Exciting collaborative opportunities exist for interdisciplinary interactions with more than thirty MEAS faculty. In addition, NCSU's coastal facility, the Center for Marine Sciences and Technology (CMAST), located in Morehead City, NC, provides another opportunity for interdisciplinary interactions and logistical support for field operations.
