Postdoctoral Fellows/Research Associates

In order to build a new program in biogeochemical cycles and climate at ETH Zurich, I am seeking to fill at least new two positions at the postdoctoral to research associate level this year. I am looking for candidates with an interest in biogeochemical cycles and their interaction with the climate system, especially from a data analysis and/or modeling perspective. Particular topics of interest are (i) coastal ocean/open ocean interactions, (ii) the sensitivity of the carbon cycle to climate variations and change (both past and future), (iii) land-ocean interactions through the atmosphere or hydrological cycle, (iv) the coupling of nutrient cycles with the carbon cycle, and (v) the development and application of inverse techniques in biogeochemistry. Depending on the interests and qualifications of the candidates, the positions include also teaching opportunities. The positions are initially for 2 years, starting August 1, 2006, but can be extended. The successful candidates have a Ph.D. in biogeosciences or related field, a proven research and publication record, and substantial experience in data analysis and/or modeling.
