measurements from satellites to achieve a better understanding of
shelf, slope, and interior flow interactions and exchange processes.
The postdoc will work within the recently established Cooperative
Institute for Oceanographic Satellite Studies (CIOSS). QUALIFICATIONS:
· Ph.D. in one of the following fields: physical oceanography, atmospheric
sciences, engineering, physics or mathematics. · Experience in theoretical
and/or numerical modeling studies of fluid mechanics problems and
a strong background in applied mathematics. · Experience with data
assimilation methods and with the dynamical interpretation of oceanographic
or atmospheric data is preferred. · Proficiency in written and spoken
English. · Demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity
is preferred. TO APPLY: In the application materials, mention where
you learned of the position, and include the position number (005-548).
To apply, a statement of scientific interest, curriculum vitae,
and three letters of reference should be sent to: Janine Kobel,
