Sultan Qaboos University is the National University of the Sultanate of Oman. The College of Agricultural and Marine Sciences at SQU provides a wide variety of undergraduate degree programs, graduate programs at masters level and a range of research projects and extension activities. All instruction is in English and candidates for academic positions must have an earned PhD as a minimum requirement for appointment. The University is located near the capital area and close to excellent international schools and unique natural recreational areas. The College has vacancies for academic staff in the following departments for the year 2004: ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR IN PHYSICAL OCEANOGRAPHY. The Department of Marine Science and Fisheries is seeking a physical oceanographer to teach an introductory course, as well as other courses in the candidates' area of specialization. The Department is a strong, multi-disciplinary unit, with excellent research facilities, a coastal research vessel and opportunities for multi-disciplinary collaboration in laboratory and field-based research with national and international marine scientists.
