EUR-OCEANS WP leader and IMBER vice-chair * IMBER/OCEANS, GLOBEC, EUR-OCEANS, MARBEF, CARBOOCEAN, US-JGOFS, OCMIP/NOCES, PROOF, GEOTRACES *****************************************************
Assistant for EUR-OCEANS coordination (a EURopean network of excellence for OCean Ecosystems ANalysiS). EUR-OCEANS is a new European Network of Excellence (http://www.eur-oceans.org ) dealing with marine ecosystems and global change, involving 160 PIs within 66 Institutes cross 20 countries. EUR-OCEANS is seeking to appoint an assistant for coordination of activities on trophic model interfacing and regional system integration (respectively WorkPackages 3.1 and 7 of the NoE). The job will be undertaken at the Institut Universitaire Europeen de la Mer, Brest, France, in close conjunction with the EUR-OCEANS Project Office and the IMBER International Project Office (http://www.imber.info ). The tasks include assisting the WP leader in implementing the EUR-OCEANS Workplan, organizing and servicing meetings, gathering relevant informations and share them across the entire network, partipating in the project website and interacting with the System Integration Task Team (SITT) and the Network Steering Committee (NSC). For this position we seek a candidate with a PhD and a track record in scientific coordination or project management, and preferably some experience in biogeochemistry or marine ecosystems. Some national or international travel will be involved. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal abilities, be fluent in English and have very good skills in both written and verbal communication. This post is available for three years and will be filled as soon as possible. Starting salary will be in the range of 26,800 to 36,700 Euros, dependent on the relevant skills, knowledge and experience that the post holder brings to the role.
