Subject: Postdoctoral Position

POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER (Position 005-541). The College of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences (COAS) at Oregon State University (OSU) invites applications for a full-time, fixed term, Research Associate (Postdoctoral) position. The successful candidate will join a team of researchers on a project aimed at understanding air-sea interaction processes and ocean-atmosphere coupling in a coastal upwelling regime. Specific research tasks will include coupling a regional atmospheric model with a coastal ocean model, conducting numerical simulations with the coupled model, and comparing model results to existing field observations. Qualifications: Ph.D. in physical oceanography, atmospheric science, or a related field with emphasis on numerical simulation of fluid flows; experience in Unix systems and Fortran (scientific programming); demonstrated ability to achieve and publish scientific results; experience in numerical modeling of mesoscale ocean or atmosphere flow problems is highly desirable; experience in parallel programming is highly desirable; demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity is preferred; proficiency in written and spoken English. Salary: $38,000-$41,004.
