Subject: Rosenstiel Award Nominations Sought

28th Annual Award for Outstanding Achievement and Distinction in Oceanographic Science

The Division of Marine and Atmospheric Chemistry invites nominations for the 28th Annual Award in Oceanographic Science. The Rosenstiel Award recognizes outstanding contributions by an individual in marine science and marine affairs, and in oceanographically relevant areas of atmospheric science. To accommodate the multi-disciplinary nature of oceanographic studies, the award recognizes achievement in the various fields on a rotating basis. The Spring 2004 award will be made for contributions in the broad area of Marine and Atmospheric Chemistry. Ideally candidates should be at an early/middle stage in their careers. The closing date for receiving nominations is September 15, 2003. Nominations may be made by anyone. Nomination packages should include a letter of nomination outlining the nominee's significant contributions and potential, a CV, a bibliography, and a minimum of three supporting letters. At least two of the letters must be from persons not currently or recently associated with the nominee's institution of graduate study or employment.
