Dear colleagues,
I am saddened to report the death yesterday of Dave Keeling, the
result of a heart attack sustained after a hike with his son in
Montana. A few more details are given in the note below that Charlie
Kennel circulated to SIO staff earlier today. Dave's visionary and
persistent efforts to document the rise of atmospheric carbon dioxide
have influenced scientific thinking and awakened societal response
to a profound degree. I know that he will be deeply missed by us
all.
Sean
