POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT TITLE: Assistant Professor (Senior Research)—Director
Electron Microprobe Laboratory.
A full-time, fixed-term annual appointment with renewal at the
discretion of the Dean. SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
APPLICATION CLOSING DATE: 1 April 2004
RESPONSIBILITIES: Facilitate research in our electron microprobe
laboratory and provide instruction and training in microanalysis
theory and methods. The successful candidate will divide his/her
time between independent research and facility management, including
collaborative development and application of electron microprobe
techniques to interdisciplinary research across a broad range of
scientific and engineering solutions. Expectations include developing
extramural research support.
QUALIFICATIONS: · Ph.D. in one of the following fields: geology,
volcanology, oceanography, geo- or cosmochemistry or a closely related
field. · Active research agenda demonstrating the potential for
outstanding collaborative and independent scholarship. · Record
or demonstrated potential in developing extramural research support
and graduate student supervision. · Facility management and postdoctoral
experience are desirable. · Preferred qualifications include a demonstrable
commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
