Research at the University of Washington
Postdoctoral
Research Opportunities
The University of Washington invites applications for three Postdoctoral
Research Associate positions in climate, climate dynamics and/or
global biogeochemical cycles. Support for these positions will be
through the Joint Institute for the Study of the Atmosphere and
Oceans (JISAO) or the Program on Climate Change (PCC), depending
on the proposed research.
Applicants
should have a recent Ph.D. in oceanography, atmospheric science,
geology, or related field. Please submit a brief mini-proposal (approximately
500 words) outlining research to be pursued during a two-year tenure
at the University of Washington, if selected.
Applicants
interested in a PCC postdoctoral research position should include
in their proposal (1) specific collaborations that will bridge UW
departments and (2) how their research fits within the PCC Science
themes:
Determining the Fate of Greenhouse Gases
Assessing the Impacts of Climate Change
Paleoclimate/Factors involved in Past Climate Change
Interpreting Current Climate Trends
Predicting Future Climate
Term of appointment: one (1) year, renewable for a second year,
subject to the approval and availability of funding.
