Special
ASLO Session
Dear Colleague,
Louis Legendre and I are convening a special session entitled "Interactions
and Feedbacks Among Marine Pelagic Ecosystems, Biogeochemical Cycles
and Climate, in a Globally Changing Environment" (SS5.12) at the
2004 Ocean Research Conference (co-sponsored by The American Society
of Limnology and Oceanography and The Oceanography Society http://aslo.org/honolulu2004/index.html)
from February 15-20, 2004 in Honolulu, Hawaii. The session description
is below. The deadline for the submission of abstracts is October
1st, 2003. Louis and I invite you to a contribute paper to this
session. We look forward to seeing you in Hawaii in 2004.
Best Regards,
Richard and Louis
Session Description: For over a decade, it has been recognised that
there are relationships between food web structure and biogeochemical
cycles. It is only recently however that these interactions has
begun to be quantified. It is through their interactions with biogeochemical
cycles that marine food webs feedback to the climate. To date however,
the study of these processes have generally been considered within
highly disciplinary programs and sessions. This special session will
examine the observational, experimental, and conceptual and numerical
modelling studies of the interactions and feedbacks among food-web,
biogeochemical and climate processes. ___________________________________________________________________
