Automating electrochemical and speciation measurements with GPES software and Autolab instrumentation

The ability to quantify and enumerate bioavailability, complexation capacity, and reactivity of trace metals, nutrient species, and natural organic ligands has become increasingly important as the frontiers of geochemistry and physics are mingled with molecular biology and biochemistry in batch culture and environmental samples. The increasingly interdisciplinary nature of collaborations and time-series measurements require that these measurements become more fully automated and more transparent to the basic user. Here we show the possibility to collect data from sequential automated analyses for up to 255 separate working electrodes with the use of the Autolab SCNR and Multiplexing MUX modules and up to six different electrochemical cells with the Autolab ARRAY modules in combination with our potentiostat/galvanostat instruments.
