SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATIONS OF HOW TO DISPLAY THEM VIA SMP LAS

OCMIP FILES FROM ALL 4 SMP OCMIP PARTICIPANTS SHOULD EVENTUALLY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING ENTRIES ON THE SMP LAS:

Below, I've sorted through the various NCAR OCMIP files, and have made recommendations on how to handle them.  I am not familiar with how LAS deals with serving variables across multiple files, but that is how the CFC files are served, and it seems to be the most efficient way to handle the files under IV. and V. below. Check out the details below and see what you think.


I.  ABIOTIC EQUILIBRIUM RUN and
II. BIOTIC EQUILIBRIUM RUN

The output from the Abiotic equilibrium run is in 1 NetCDF file.
The output from the Biotic equilibrium run is in 1 NetCDF file.
NOTE: Both of these are already on the SMP LAS as "NCAR OCMIP2 Abiotic" and "NCAR OCMIP2 Biotic"

The model output for the CFC and transient Abiotic Carbon runs is split across multiple files. Each run has multiple classes of files and each class of files contains different variables.
NOTE:  The CFC files are already up, but the SurfTS files could be confusing to users, as they do not represent equilibrium conditions.
Recommendations: The Surface T&S files SHOULD NOT BE POSTED YET, at least  until we determine how to warn users about this.

  2. Unlike the files for Biotic and Abiotic Equilibrium runs above, where multiple years were included in one file, these transient runs include a different file for each year
Recommendations: make these available as 3 different files:
