Suggested Data Citation Format:
We encourage scientific and educational use of the data and simply request that users credit the original principal investigators (PI). For example, here's a citation example for a US JGOFS data entity, Equatorial Pacific TT008 Bacterial data, contributed by originating PI, Hugh Ducklow and published online in December 2004:
Ducklow, Hugh. "Bacteria abundance, Thymidine and Leucine incorporation." United States JGOFS Data Server. Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, USA: U.S. JGOFS Data Management Office, iPub: 13 December 2004. Accessed: 'date you accessed the data'. http://usjgofs.whoi.edu/jg/serv/jgofs/eqpac/tt008/bact.html0
The general format for citation of data from the US JGOFS online data system is:
PI name. "dataset name". United States JGOFS Data Server. Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, USA: U.S. JGOFS Data Management Office, iPub: 'Version date of the dataset". Accessed: 'date you accessed the data'. http://usjgofs.whoi.edu/jg/serv/jgofs/and_rest_of_URL
Any questions regarding scientific use of data from the online system should be sent to Cyndy Chandler (cchandler@whoi.edu), Manager of the U.S. JGOFS Data Management Office.
