AESOPS NBP97-8 HPLC methodology notes

A comparison of the TURNER-determined chlorophyll a concentrations with the
HPLC-determined TCHLA concentrations (monovinyl chlorophyll a + monovinyl
chlorophyllide a;  units = ng Chl a equivalents/L) was performed for Ross
Process Cruise IV (NBP9708).  A good agreement between these two methods
was observed (see below).

Results of geometric mean regression analysis (reduced major axis):

Y = HPLC TCHLA (monovinyl chlorophyll a + monovinyl chlorophyllide a),
units = ng Chl a equivalents/L

X = TURNER chlorophyll a (it is necessary to convert the Turner Chl a
concentrations in the AESOPS data base from mg/m3 to ng/L by multiplying
concentrations by 1000)

HPLC TCHLA = TURNER*(0.9023) - 57.4828 (r = 0.9750, n = 171)
